Basic Modeling Tools In 3ds Max
Trough this tutorial we are going to talk about "basic modeling tools in 3ds max.
First of all create a box with these values
Length :-200 cm
Height :-200 cm
Width :-200 cm
Length, height,width segs:-1
Then convert it to an editable poly so that we can edit(model) it.
Insert
Lets talk about insert tool.Select face modeling mood (press 4).Select near two faces.Scroll down to edit polygons menu and hit the box of insert tool.Then give a number in this case I gave 44 cm.Notice there is a box right on top of the box,go ahead and click the box and see what happens.
Extrude
Lets talk about extrude tool.Select face modeling mood (press 4).Select near two faces(Just for instance).Scroll down to edit polygons menu and hit the box of extrude tool.Then give a number in this case I gave 44 cm.Notice there is a box right on top of the box,go ahead and click the box (There are three kind of extraditions) and see what happens.
Bridge
Lets talk about bridge tool.This tool is very important when you are creating random 3d objects.Select face modeling mood (press 4).Select two faces that need to be bridged(You cannot select near faces).Scroll down to edit polygons menu and hit the box of insert tool.Notice that there are many sub-tools,so that every thing is under control.Just for demonstration purpose I will use a custom modeled polygon.
"Flip" tool can flip normals of a face,faces or a whole entire."Bevel" is almost extrude tool but the different is it can control the size of extruded face.
A useful shortcut key.
In some cases you may have to do a change a few times.So that you can use " ; " key.
